Athena Organizing Solutions started in 2016. My goal is to help others get their spaces and stuff organized. After many years of doing organizing for family, friends, and myself I decided it was time to share my skills and experience to a broader audience. My goal is to provide both a superior customer experience and tremendous value for my customers.
My name is Dawn Jackson and I have been organizing spaces most of my life. I have lived in some very small spaces since I was a child and had to learn how to make my stuff fit. This helped me when I lived in a college dorm and when I had a 750 square foot townhouse for a husband, a child, and myself. Like most people, I have a lot of stuff and I may not have such a small home anymore, but I know how that stuff can take over!
I have always been the most organized person wherever I have worked. During my years in retail I reorganized stock rooms so we could find what we needed. In the corporate world I always had thorough and complete documentation and could always find what the boss needed. I also helped streamline processes and created systems for getting things done.
I can also help you prepare for a move to a new home. Whether you are moving into something larger or downsizing, I can help you! When I was a kid and a young adult I moved a lot and got very good at packing and preparing for a move. Friends and family have often turned to me to help them plan and organize their moves. I am an excellent packer and make it easy to unload your contents in your new space with clear labeling and grouped my room.
I love helping people and welcome your feedback and suggestions. Use the Contact Us page to tell me what I am doing right or what I can improve on.
Where the company name originated:
I have had several people ask me how I came up with the name Athena Organizing Solutions. I tried several different ideas for a unique company name but I couldn’t find one that I felt was clear about what I am here to do and memorable. I looked everywhere for inspiration on a name and did lots of brainstorming. Then I saw a mug with one of my favorite characters, Wonder Woman, on one side and the words: “Lovely as Aphrodite, Wise as Athena”.
Suddenly I realized that Athena was a perfect name for many reasons. I loved mythology since I was a kid, my first grown up book was a mythology collection. Athena is the Greek goddess of war strategy, wisdom, crafts, and the home. My alma mater, the University of Louisville, uses the Roman version of Athena for the academic logo. I was a member of Mortar Board Senior Honor Society and our chapter name was Pallas Athena. The name and ideals of Athena have been part of my history and it is only fitting the name continues as a significant part of my future.
